Group Flight Information
The New York OSP Office organizes a group flight on El Al Airlines for our semester/year students through Isram Travel Agency.
We strongly recommend that you travel on the group flight for the following benefits:
- PRICE:
The price of this ticket is generally the best available price for a long-term stay in Israel.
- REFUNDABLE:
The ticket is fully refundable with the exception of a $50 penalty fee.
- OPEN- ENDED:
This ticket is open-ended and is valid for 364 days from the day of departure. The date of return to the U.S. is your decision.
- CONVENIENCE:
You will be greeted at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey by a representative from Isram Travel, as well as from the New York OSP Office to help you with the check-in process, assist with travel connections from other cities and resolve any other travel issues that may arise. As a member of the group flight you will also be allowed to carry a third piece of luggage (except flight # El Al 001).
- TRANSPORTATION TO BEN-GURION UNIVERSITY:
Upon arrival in Israel at Ben-Gurion International Airport, the group will be met by a madrich (student counselor) of the Overseas Student Program and a representative from Isram Travel, who will accompany students by bus directly to BGU. This transportation to the University is included as part of your participation in the group flight.
- MEET FELLOW STUDENTS:
Participating in the group flight is a great way for you to get to know your fellow students! An informal orientation session, including introductions will take place prior to departure near the El Al counter.
If you desire a specific seating request, be sure to inform ISRAM upon purchasing your ticket. ISRAM will try their best to accommodate OSP students. It is recommended that you request a window or aisle seat, as groups tend to be placed in middle seats.
El Al Airlines reserves the right to change flight times. ISRAM Travel will notify students of any flight time changes.
Please note that seats are limited and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reservations should be made as soon as possible upon acceptance to OSP. Flights are quickly sold out, particularly in August, which is peak season.
Your tickets will be mailed to you two weeks before departure. Please note that there is no “Group Return” flight. You should contact EL AL toward the end of your semester to arrange your return flight.
Students must be at the airport at least four hours prior to departure.

Please contact Felix Hassid at Isram Travel for all questions regarding tickets and flights. He will be able to answer all questions regarding add-on flights, stopovers and final calculation of airfare. In order to reserve your place on the group flight, please fill out the Group Reservation Form and send it directly to Felix.
Please make sure to include your e-mail address on the form so that ISRAM can send you confirmation. You will need this document to obtain your student visa.
