Library

The Zalman Aranne Library is located on the Marcus Family Campus near the main entrance of BGU.

Library hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The library is closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays.

Your student ID card serves as a library card. If books are not returned on time there is a daily fine. Please be careful not to lose your student card, as you are responsible for any books taken out on it.

The library Web site is: http://www.bgu.ac.il/aranne/. To enter click the rotating letter "Aleph" (first letter in the Hebrew alphabet).

Sports Center

BGU's sports center, located directly across from the dormitories, is available for student use free of charge upon presentation of your BGU student ID card. The Center includes three swimming pools (one for winter use), six tennis courts, basketball courts and a regulation size soccer field. A variety of aerobics and other sports and exercise classes are offered. The Center features state-of-the-art cardiovascular fitness and weight rooms that are available to students for a nominal fee.

Health Center

A Kupat Holim Clalit health clinic is located at the University on the second floor of the student center. The Harel insurance policy allows OSP students to walk in without an appointment and see a doctor. (Click here for insurance and other health care information.) All clinic hours are subject to change. You will be advised of updated hours upon arrival in Israel.

Clinic hours:

  • Sundays to Tuesdays: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm
  • Wednesdays: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

An additional option for OSP students is the Wingate Clinic located at 3 Hanna Senesh Street in Beer-Sheva.

Clinic hours:

  • Sundays and Thursdays: 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Mondays and Wednesdays: 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Tuesdays: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Doctors until 12:00 p.m.)

An English speaking doctor is available at Wingate clinic:

  • Sundays and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Monday and Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Soroka University Medical Center, recognized internationally as an outstanding patient care and teaching hospital, is adjacent to the Marcus Family Campus. In the event of extreme emergency, OSP students are brought directly to Soroka.

Upon arrival in Israel, you will receive a health guide with additional information, including the phone numbers of the insurance company, as well as other health clinics in Beer-Sheva. A representative of the insurance company is available during the orientation period to provide more information.
