The Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center

The Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center is Israel’s solar energy “headquarters,” the only national solar energy center in the country.

It is located at BGU’s Sede Boqer campus where the unique climatic conditions have been empirically proven to be more accurate than computer simulation in testing solar energy systems.

Activities at the National Solar Energy Center include pursuing groundbreaking research to harness the potential of solar energy, assessing new equipment for solar power production, and educating the next generation of scientists and engineers.

With your support the National Solar Energy Center will be able to:

  • Position itself as a world leader in the research, development, entrepreneurship and application of advanced solar energy technology.
  • Function as a value chain in solar energy usage, from initial idea through research, experimentation, demonstration, industrial development, manufacturing and export.
  • Promote collaborative research within the University, Israel and around the world.

Improved scientific infrastructure is needed now to establish Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center as a hub of solar energy research.

With your help, we can make Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center the world’s solar energy headquarters.
